Notwithstanding suggestions that Rodney Berman “dumps” his beaten boxers, less than 48 hours after Flo Simba’s knockout defeat he signed him on for another four years.
It was a compelling signal of the promoter’s faith in the young aspirant, who was taught a lesson by the experienced Botha.
Said Berman: “We had a good talk. Flo knows what he did wrong and perhaps the moment was too big for him, but he will learn from it and come back better. He was very mature about his mistakes and it shows his determination to improve. Every decent heavyweight has lost a fight. The measure of their worth is how they come back. I have every faith in Flo.”

I assume of course that a ‘four year’ contract has some serious conditions in it. If Flo were to lose his next two fights I’m certain he would not be part of the Golden Gloves stable any longer. My opinion is that Flo needs to fight Bully Marahva next and then have a shot at the S.A Heaveyweight title. He should smash Bully but it’ll be a confidence booster and then he can go for an S.A title.
Now here is a prospect. Let Johnny fight Tommy. That would be fight I would pay to see. Both can box and it would bring a lot of credit to their images depending on who won. My money would be on Johnny. Just like the Fourie Bedeman fight.

Hi All
I am a fan of boxing and love a good punch up, where are the likes of our young agressive fighter like Jason Bedeman, fighting again?
I say in Cape Town and I come down just to watch that kind of fight.

Boxing you got to love it.
Guys Tommy is a great puncher at will, kind of fighter.
But what we watch on Saturday night, was not the best Tommy.
Man Gare came to fight, Tommy will have to pick up those hands a little bit more and start fighting.
Flo my friend you are still a star you still have a IBO youth Title, that means something.
Pick your self up and do great things.
I am from the South of Joburg.
where is the Badman let him Knock Kyle a round a bit, on a GGP bill.

Uppercut I seriously doubt it will be the end of Johnny as you state, never underestimate this kid. As to the fight, will never happen, they are sparring partners, same situation when everyone wanted Flo and Johnny to fight each other. Flo and Johnny, I have the greatest faith you both you youngsters, you know what you did wrong, now get up and look the world square in the eyes and start again, you are both good boxers, remember, the best of the best has to lose to learn the valuable lessons. Good luck guys.

Hi Simon.
I think its a good suggestion and even though boxing is the sport where most sensational things happen…
Are you aware that the same guy who knocked Johnny out in the 3rd on Saturday night, Tommy KO’d in the 4th round in September 2009? Just a thought, I think Tommy is maybe a little to advanced. How about a Johnny vs Chilemba, afterall Johnny could KO Chilemba as he has been dropped although Chilemba stands a better chance to win on points.

Simon and The Iron, once young Muller learns to focus and control that wild anger he will be a sensational boxer. We all know he has tremendous power behind his right hand and although beaten, because of his anger, on Saturday night, he outboxed Mohale in the first two rounds, I’m not so sure Chilemba would win on points…….

Get Muller back in training and let him show us what he’s got. I firmly believe that although he is still very young and has a lot to learn (even defeat) he will be great. Flo happy about your extended contract!
