“Badman” Will Take The Fistic Scene By Storm – Fernandes

Trainer Manny Fernandes is convinced that his 20-year-old IBO Africa lightweight champion Jason “Badman” Bedeman will take the fistic storm by storm during 2010!
Moreover, Fernandes thinks that Bedeman’s forthcoming bout with Ghana’s Bilal Mohammed, for the vacant WBA Pan Africa lightweight title at Emperors Palace on February 27, will be a perfunctory outing that should see his fair-haired warrior triumph inside seven rounds.

“I’m certainly not underestimating Mohammed, who is reputed to be a solid puncher, but I feel that Jason is in such devastating form at present, that it will take a very special fighter to derail him” said Fernandes. With an unbeaten resume of 10 wins and 2 draws, Bedeman has clearly made huge inroads over the past six months and his mentor’s lavish praise is not without merit.

However while Golden Gloves Promoter Rodney Berman is keen to echo Fernandes’ sentiments, he does believe that Bedeman’s next fight could be a difficult milestone in his blossoming career. “Any WBA Pan Africa title carries with it a lot of credibility and while I’m glad to know Fernandes is bubbling over with optimism, I’m convinced that Mohammed will prove to be a very dangerous opponent on the night. Indeed, besides being a terrific hitter, our sources in Ghana have assured us that Mohammed is a slick and clever tactician with plenty of courage”

Not that the experienced Fernandes doubts the Ghanaian boxer’s prowess mind you. “Every guy out of Ghana who puts gloves on his hands can fight” said Fernandes, “but I want to state unequivocally that Jason is like a mini-tornado in the gymnasium and he’s punching with much more authority than earlier in his career”.

That eight of Bedeman’s opponents were halted inside the distance, underlines the Rosettenville fighter’s status as a puncher and experts have remarked that the Badman is throwing a lot more combinations than before.

“He is still a relative kid in this game and has years of learning ahead of him, but you can take it from me that by the time I’ve finished molding him, Jason will be one of the most explosive and exciting lightweights in the world” concluded Fernandes.
