The Golden Gloves Promotions Box & Dine bill on July 28 at Emperors Palace is a fund raiser for Sibusiso Mogale, a 22-year-old South African national swimmer who was born with a deformity called Phocomelia; meaning he was born without arms. The tournament, which is being promoted in conjunction with Jeff Ellis of African Ring, is the brainchild of Wayne Smith whose forged a reputation in terms of assisting those in need. Smith, who resides in Johannesburg, initiated the move in order to purchase prosthetic arms for Mogale, who has represented this country as a swimmer in both the breaststroke and butterfly categories. Moreover, the impeccably mannered Mogale also swam the Midmar Mile in under forty minutes. Sadly he missed out on the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing by only a few seconds.
“We are determined to make this box and dine an event to be remembered” said GGP Promoter Rodney Berman, “and there won’t be any effort spared in our build-up to the tournament itself”.
So who features on the July 28 bill? “We’ll have three of the most exciting fighters in the country boxing on the bill” said Berman, “namely WBA International bantamweight champion Tshifhiwa Munyai (19-1, with 9 knockouts), Johnny “Hurricane” Muller (6-0-1, with 4 knockouts) and ‘SA Prospect of the Year’ Flo “The Demolition Man” Simba (5-0, with 4 knockouts)”.
Although the entire fight card has yet to be announced, there is also a spot for unbeaten Gauteng lightweight Joey Stiglingh, who will look to further his ambitions for 2010. “One of the most intriguing fights on the bill is Johnny Muller versus Elvis Moyo. Yes, the same Moyo who last Saturday night became the first fighter to go the slated distance with the murderous hitting Simba” said Berman.
It is understood that the multi-skilled Munyai will not be defending his WBA title on July 28 but instead utilize the opportunity to box either an 8-round or 10-round contest in preparation for a forthcoming title defence in November.
As for Simba, the dynamic young university student will be as keen as mustard to jot up another useful win, having experienced an interesting six-round bout with the game-as-they-come Moyo. “Flo dropped Moyo three times en route to posting his latest triumph but Elvis refused to stay down and that augurs well for Moyo’s next outing against the destructive punching Muller” said Simba’s manager Brian Mitchell. Berman concurred. “So much has been written about a futuristic match between Johnny and Flo, despite the fact that they’re both trained by Harold Volbrecht and it stands to reason that fight fans will continue to compare their common opponents” concluded Berman.

Hi Terry
Glad you are feeling better and hope all is well.
Please let me know and all of Jason’s fan why he’s profile is not on GGP’s web site.
I know Flo is the next big thing and he is getting marketed much better on this site.
There is on new up date on how well the Badman did last weekend?
All I see is a miss each time Jason’s name comes up the only time you see the Badman is when someone is other challenging him or some one has somthing bad to say about him.
That is not on, he always does GGP proud in the ring.
I am speaking as a true fan of the Badman.
Regards

Great GGP, this is what we want to see, Johnny and Flo fight on the same bill, we love them both and believe they will both be great champs.

I will definately be there, good luck to Johnny and Flo.

Adding, a futuristic match between Johnny and Flo would be very unwise. As said before, they are sparring partners, respect each other’s skill and they can become champions in their own right. People should stop comparing the two, they can both become great.

This promises to be great, I can’t wait. Flo doesn’t have to prove to anyone what he is made of, both he and the young Muller has done exactly that over and over in their fights. Good luck guys and don’t let any comments of fans ever come between the good professional relationship you two have.

Well done GGP, such a worthy cause and one I’ll attend for sure. Flo and Johnny, don’t let comments interfere with your boxing, do what you do best. Forgive us, we are just fans looking for some exitement from time to time LOL, you are both champs. If Im honest, I actually don’t want to see these two fighting one another, I want to see both of them together on the same bills for a long time to come.

BEDEMAN IS AN OUTSTANDING YOUNG FIGHTER AND YOU CAN BE SURE THAT HIS NAME WILL FEATURE PROMINENTLY IN MY STORIES OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. AS FOR BOTHMA AND FOURIE, I HAVE NOTHING TO REPORT AT THIS STAGE, THOUGH WE AT GGP HAVE A HEALTHY RESPECT FOR BOTH FIGHTERS!
