“Anyone Who Bets Against Badman Needs His Head Examined” -Fernandes

Fight trainer Manny Fernandes believes that anyone who bets against Jason “The Badman” Bedeman (10-0-2, with 8 knockouts) retaining his IBO Africa lightweight title against the heavily fancied Bongani Dlamini (6-1, with 5 knockouts) on Saturday night’s BLOCKBUSTER bill at Emperors Palace needs his or her head examined.

“Jason is undefeated and yet so many crackpots are saying how Dlamini will flatten him” said an irate Fernandes. “Has everyone lost their perspective? Or is the FIFA football world cup interfering with a solid understanding of what’s been happening in the roped square?” asked Fernandes.

For his part, Fernandes has been saying all along that while Dlamini is a fine talent with excellent boxing skills, he doesn’t carry the necessary strength and power to trouble the unbeaten Bedeman, who at age 20 also owns the WBA Pan African lightweight title.

“No one can deny the fact that Jason is an extraordinary fighter and he is definitely one of the strongest lightweights on the planet! Moreover once Dlamini attempts to trade punches with him, which is what Dlamini’s trainer Elias Tshabalala has alluded to happening, my guy will blow the challenger into smithereens. There’s definitely an upset coming, I agree, but it will be in the form of the much touted Dlamini going to sleep inside seven rounds” concluded Fernandes.

With an IBO Africa title riding on the result of this fight there is every reason to believe that both fighters will want to establish their dominance fairly early in the bout and it says here that the opening exchanges will not be for the squeamish. “Bongani will serve notice that he’s a superstar in the making” said Elias Tshabalala who appears to foster little doubt that his boxer will knockout the Badman in the second round. “This is a classic example of a brave slugger meeting a brilliant boxer and as you know a fighter hardly ever beats a boxer. Fernandes’ confidence in his fighter is laudable but I have to say it’s totally misguided and the Badman will have to change his name to the ‘Sadman’ after Bongani gets through with him”.

like I said before the fighter who want’s it the most will win, this fight won’t go the distance if jason doesn’t settle down fast.He has to much nerves first place and looks tense if he enter’s the ring.Bongani is a brawler and will take charge from the start.

Element of suprise will take this fight.

I’m still so excited about this weekend’s “Blockbuster” bill, can’t wait to see Hekkie walk away victorious. To see the two young lions battle it out at the light-weight division. And last but surly not least Flo Simba to take the easy win. Thanks GGP for keeping the smile on all the boxing fans faces, you always deliver great bills and produce the best world champions. God bless GGP and South-African boxing.
