Bedeman wants Dlamini’s World Title!

IBO Africa lightweight champion Jason “Badman” Bedeman (10-0-2) is hunting IBO world lightweight titleholder Mlungisi “The Shark” Dlamini (19-0) and means to dismantle the KwaZulu-Natal warrior if the opportunity avails itself. “We have no problem fighting Dlamini” said Bedeman’s trainer Manny Fernandes, who though first has a February 27 date for his blossoming young tiger on the Emperors Palace ‘PRELUDE’ bill.

“Jason is a Golden Gloves Promotional fighter and naturally much will depend on the route that Rodney Berman is mapping out for us in 2010″ said Fernandes, whose confident that his 20-year-old charge could flatten the undefeated Dlamini without preamble.
“I watched Dlamini beat Zolani Marali to win the vacant IBO world lightweight title a number of months back and feel satisfied that Jason would knock him out inside eight rounds” added Fernandes, who has been South Africa’s “Trainer of the Year” on two separate occassions.
Mind you, Bedeman, who is regarded as one of the strongest and hardest hitting lightweights on the home circuit, will certainly be champing-at-the-bit now that Fernandes has set his sights on Dlamini and even though the Badman from south of Johannesburg will be contesting the vacant WBA Pan African lightweight title in his next fight, he’d like nothing more than a world championship belt for his mantlepiece.
“The great things about Jason are his work ethic, dedication, durability and punching power, and if you think carefully, there are precious few fighters who are blessed with all four of those attributes” concluded Fernandes. Promoter Rodney Berman, however, has advised both Bedeman and Fernandes to concentrate on their next outing in February and to forget about a possible meeting with Dlamini, at least for the forseeable future. “They have to take things once step at a time and right now Jason has to focus on his Ghanaian opponent Bilal Mohammed, whose certainly no slouch and has highly enviable credentials”.

Indeed the hard punching Mohammed (14-3, with 11 knockouts) poses a definite threat to Bedeman’s world championship aspirations and reliable field reports suggest that he is a destructive one-punch hitter who can win a fight in the blink of an eye.
In fact one of GGP’s most dependable fight agents in Africa informed your scribe that Mohammed is himself a wonderful prospect for international honours.

“If your guy (Bedeman) is as good as I hear he is, then this upcoming contest will be a real war, but if his chin isn’t re-inforced with concrete, then I’m afraid you fellas could be in real trouble, because Mohammed hits like applejack”.

We at Golden Gloves value the comments of fight fans and we certainly will not over match this wonderful young talent. Having said that, Bedeman is a fighter who thrives on hard work and his trainer Manny Fernandes assures us that Jason is ready for the immediate challenges ahead.

I think its very good for african boxers to have such confidence in themselves, yet the Shark is way too experienced and is too after bigger fish, badman is a nobody and he will have to proove himself just like his promoter said, he needs to have a record, you crowl, walk and then run, you don’t just run and badman as good as he is, he just wont be able to beat the shark, trainer Manny knows that and he’s just trying to make some media out of nothing.

Perhabs he should fight with Zolani first.

We’ll I think, that bad man will beat the shark why I say this, I think he’s got so much talent it wont be that big of an obstacle for the bad man and if bad man is a “ so called no body” why will it be so hard for the shark to take him. I say the bad man will knock the shark out in the late 10th round. And let’s make this fight happen.

Jason “THE BAD MAN” Bedeman, Would Love nothing more than to have a shot at the champ and people should not underestimate him because they have done it before and Jason showed every one what he was made of and that’s heart and skill. Every one that gets in his way is unfortunately never spoken of again and the champ well he isn’t the champ for no reason either so WHEN Jason “THE BAD MAN” Bedeman fights the champ, they will both have a great obstacle to get over.

Jason the Badman is for sure one of South Africas most exciting fighters.
He has heart and raw power in both hands and he can really fight. The last thought that will run through Dlamini’s mind as he is knocked to the canvas, is that Jason is anything but a boy.

Dlamini may have alot to say about all of this but one thing is certain The Badman is not a talker he uses his fists to prove a point so bring it on Dlamini! It will be pleasure to watch the Badman settle the score in the ring with you. What a fight it will be.
