Providing Jason “Badman” Bedeman wins his vacant WBA Pan African lightweight shootout with Ghana’s Bilal Mohammed on the PRELUDE championship bill at Emperors Palace on February 27, he’ll most likely feature on a Ricky Hatton Promotions/Golden Gloves Promotions bill in England in April. In confirming the news, Golden Gloves Promoter Rodney Berman said; “Jason has shown exceptional growth under the auspices of Manny Fernandes and I’m quietly confident that he can become one of SA boxing’s showstopper performers over the next twelve months”. Qualifying his forthcoming plans for Bedeman, the CEO of GGP also announced; “Naturally I’ll be speaking more to Gareth Williams (Ricky Hatton’s manager & business strategist) over the next week or two but i feel confident that the Brits would love to have Bedeman fight in their country”.
However, Bedeman himself still fosters the hope of challenging unbeaten IBO world lightweight champion Mlungisi “The Shark” Dlamini (19-0) for the transplanted KwaZulu/Natal boxer’s title sometime in 2010, and according to Berman, the practicality of that bout -which could prove to be a thunderous encounter – will be discussed with Dlamini’s respective braintrust after April.
“Bedeman has had 12 fights as a professional (10-0-2) and is still undefeated but his trainer Manny Fernandes would like another two contests at least before taking on Dlamini” concluded Berman.
A warrior in the true traditions of the prize ring, Bedeman has extraordinary durability and the heart of a bull terrier, and he wages war with uncommon enjoyment. “Jason simply loves to fight” said Fernandes “and he’s certainly one of the hardest shot-for-shot hitters in the lightweight ranks. Personally I think he’ll take out Dlamini inside eight or nine rounds and if they (Dlamini’s backers) are willing to talk turkey after April, we’ll be only too glad to get it on!”
The “Badman” has thus far stopped eight of his victims and Fernandes has undoubtedly fashioned a formidable young fighter, who as it happens, only turns 21 this year. “Jason is already an IBO Africa champion (per courtesy of his exciting stoppage of Grant “The Fireball” Fourie) and he’s hungry for even greater and more lucrative honours as the year progresses” added Fernandes.
As things stand the flaxen-haired Bedeman has already built up a cult following in the Southern Suburbs of Johannesburg, and his stocks are likely to soar the more he fights, and need I say…. wins!

You know regarding the last comment I Have to say that , you may be confident in your fighter or should I say your boxer, however I do not think you are aware of the Badman’s committment to the sport of boxing. The Badman has more heart, courage, strength, duration and focus than any other boxer in his weight that I have seen, and when he enters that ring it best be known that he is there because he has one goal and that is to win, he will not get into the ring if it is his belief that he will lose and actions speak louder than words the BADMAN is not a talker he uses his fists to prove a point.

Boxing was never anything more to me than a useless excuse for a sport…having said that, I would like to thank the Badman for proving me wrong. I have never seen any boxer ,or sportsman for that matter, with more heart and dedication than he has shown. He has inspired me to look at life from a entirely different and enlightening perspective. I often see him running in the streets of the South of Jozi come rain or shine…now here’s a personality we can admire.
