Rising Stars Will Look To Stake Claim On November Extravaganza!

Wednesday night’s RISING STARS Box & Dine event at Emperors Palace is sure to serve up a feast of action as the likes of Tshifhiwa “The Atomic Spider” Munyai, Johnny “Hurricane” Muller and Flo “The Demolition Man” Simba enter the ring to stake a berth on the Golden Gloves Promotions fistic extravaganza at the same venue in November. For the record, the November bill features the eagerly anticipated crunch meeting between IBO world super middleweight champion Isaac “The Golden Boy” Chilemba and Tommy “Tommy Gun” Oosthuizen and judging by advanced interest in the fight, the ‘Palace of Dreams’ will be bursting at the seams. “Every fighter under our promotional wing will want a spot on that bill” said GGP director Stan Fanaroff “and as such it figures that the likes of Munyai, Simba and Muller will be aiming to post meaningful victories on Wednesday night’s fight card”.

Certainly there is every chance that the wonderfully talented Munyai, who is the current WBA International bantamweight champion, will record a decisive win over his Ghanaian opponent; Prosper Ankrah, in what is essentially a 10-round ‘warm-up’ ahead of the South African’s official WBA title defence later this year. “Munyai is simply a class act” said GGP Promoter Rodney Berman, “and there’s no way I can see him getting derailed at this crucial point in his career”.

As for Berman’s pair of heavyweight prospects; Johnny Muller and Flo Simba, it’s important to note that both of these young fighters have taken the fight scene by storm and experts doubt whether either of their respective opponents will blemish their unbeaten records. The fiery Muller (19) has thus far scored 6 victories in 7 fights (6-0-1), with 1 draw and five of those wins were registered via the knockout route, while Simba (20) has won all five of his professional outings and fashioned four knockouts.

Simba will be fighting Insitu Mbaya over a slated six rounds and Muller will take on the vastly more experienced Patrick Madzinga over the same distance.

Both heavyweights are trained by former SA welterweight ace Harold “The Hammer” Volbrecht and managed by two-time Hall of Famer Brian Mitchell. Style-wise, however, they are complete opposites and whereas Muller is a rugged, free-swinging bruiser who loves trench warfare, the sharp-shooting Simba is an elegant boxer/puncher who boxes behind a razor-sharp left jab. “Having said as much it’s unclear which of these two exceptional prospects will go further….they’re really that good!” enthused man-about-boxing Jeff Ellis.

Also on the bill is the undefeated Joey Stiglingh, a livewire lightweight who’ll be determind to extend his eight bout winning run when he squares up against Joseph Modise over six rounds.
There is also an interesting contest involving late bloomer (pardon the pun); Raymond Bloem versus Ashley Dlamini in the lightweight class and a potentially explosive  6 round cruiserweight clash between blood-and-guts warrior Ronnie Lategan and Jerry Thlaloae.

Last but not least, former amateur drawcard Sylvester Zaki meets Daniel Leshaba of Witbank over 4 heats in the middleweight division.
The action begins at 19h30 sharp.

I will be there tomorrow night. Terry does it have to either be Muller or Simba featuring in November? Shouldn’t both these youngsters feature to get the exposure and be marketed equally in these bills? I’m a huge Muller but like to see Simba in the ring as well. They are both huge draw cards.

I’m not that satisfied with the Bill last night, first I think Sylvester Zacky needs a lot of work if Johnny wants him to become a South-Africa beater but lets see what happens, Johnny Muller you fought brilliant you trough good combinations with great consistency, Joey Stiglingh “sheer class” I couldn’t stop speaking about this young prospect, GGP hold onto that boy he’s got what it takes, Ronnie Lategan I want a slug-fest from you but? Flo Simba should that even count as a fight? Anyway let Flo Simba fight on next months bowl Please? Tshifhiwa Munyai will become a world champion really this boy has the potential for big things, Ashley you have talent don’t waist it!
