Sees His Class of 2010 As A Turning Point In GGP’s Growth!

Golden Gloves Promoter Rodney Berman sees his Class of 2010 as a turning point in the expansion of his Company’s growing empire. “We’re witnessing a really exciting time in South African boxing” said Berman, “and one in which the likes of Isaac “The Golden Boy” Chilemba, Hekkie “The Hexecutioner” Budler, Tommy “Tommy Gun” Oosthuizen, Flo “The Demolition Man” Simba, Tshifhiwa “The Atomic Spider” Munyai, Johnny “Hurricane” Muller and Gideon Buthelezi, will establish the trend for the forseeable future. Moreover in July next year the embattled Jared “The Storm” Lovett will be back in action after a lengthy layoff and our long range prognosis is enviable to say the very least.

Naturally the CEO of GGP hasn’t for one moment forgotten some of his emerging starlets such as Joey Stiglingh, Chaz Wasserman and Bongani Dlamini, nor an established warrior in IBO welterweight king Lovemore Ndou and while most of Berman’s upper crust are still in the developing stages of their careers, he predicts that the future has never been brighter.

“Fighters come and go and because we’ve been promoting since the mid-1970′s it’s understandable that GGP has come to compromise with the inevitable. Yet having said that, our current class of boxers (2010) are as exciting as any crop of fighters we’ve ever produced and there are a few who we’ve rubber-stamped for international glory”.

Good match making Suzy but I could think the Thomas/Gare fight will happen or the Jared/Daniel; because Daniel fights for Nick and reasons being GGP does not work with Nick. uhm Jason And Joey great match making indeed. And then Morne vs. Hex I’m afraid I’m going to call it a miss match.

    Hi Suzy
That is funny stuff, Joey VS Jason that will be such a miss match.
Come on Joey is a points boxer and the BADMAN is power puncher.
I think Jason likes Joey too much to hit him.

Personally I’ve motioned this Gare/Oosthuizen fight and I’ve spoke to Thomas about it and he’ll fight Gare any day he’ said, But I think Gare will come short Thomas really can punch, and I don’t think Gare can handle a Tommy left hook express. Like I said Morne very cool guy, but he needs grooming and still needs to be fed be for he walks in to the ring with the boxing teenage HEX. Kyle/Fourie well I don’t know hey the Primrose Fireball has lots of potential, to out point and outclass Kyle. But hey anything can go any way in the beautiful game of boxing. God bless.

    Hi Susy
One thing is that your match making is off.
Reason why I say so is that, Joey is a Supper Featherweight and his rating is “10 “in the country.
Jason is a Lightweight and his rating is “4″ in the country and now on Boxrec “98″ in the World.
He has two Titles in a space of less than one year apart, now that is a Champion.

Britt thank you for the kind words but lets keep the comments coming.Chynna ,I did watch the recent fights.Dlamini did not laid a hand on Jason, because he fought the wrong fight. You can’t stand toe to toe with a fighter if you are a boxer.I hope Dlamini learned a lesson. You can’t go out and try to keep the promise you trainer made(Dlamini will knock Jason out in two rounds)that was the promise,he is not the one taking the punches.Trainers should’t make promises like that and put there boxers under pressure.

What on earth is this nonsensical talk of matching Morne Bothma with Hekkie Budler? Who is Morne Bothma anyway and what has he done to even merit a mention in the same breath as Hekkie? Get real guys. Hekkie is an IBO champion and his future opponents will come from international rankings and not from local prelim fighters.

Firstly Pete Moscardi you are defnately more qualified than some of these matchmakers on this website. Suzy and Gideon firstly Morne will have to loose between 16 and 20 kg to even
be able to get into the ring with Budler.

Budler boxed Bothma in amature fights at least 4 times and each time he beat Bothma.

Bothma will need to get in the ring with a few of Budler’s opponets first and establish some kind of name for himself before any one will let him in the ring with Budler. Alternatively
visit Hotbox gym and you can maybe catch the two sparring. Then you can decide.
