He has the float, he has the sting
He’s surly SA’s king of the ring
    Study he’s feet
    Or are they to fast?
Watch he’s hands and be prepared for a blast
    Thomas “Tommy-Gun” Oosthuizen
The number one draw cart fighter in SA.
    11-0-0 (9)
He Outclassed the prospect of the year, K.O the current super middleweight champion of South-Africa.
Won three titles in one year, arguably the best draw card at this very moment.

Oosthuizen, what a great fighter, he has the Titles and the K.O but exiting maybe.
The “BADMAN” has gone 8 rounds more than once and has 8 K.O’s to his name. To me pound for pound fighter Jason takes the title as the most exiting fighter in South Africa.

You speaking about Pound 4pound i think to get two titles in two different weight diffusions’, that there my friend is pound 4 pound. Exiting you say you Cleary did not watch Tommy dropping the South-African champion to the canvas 2 jabs and short left and that my friend is exciting to see what the Gun has in the left hand of he’s for the near further.

The Badman is without a doubt the most exciting boxer I’ve seen in the ring to date. Not only is he a seasoned fighter beyond his years, he is the most entertaining to watch, keeps me on the edge of my seat and often off of it too! GO BADMAN!

hahaha yes yes Credit given to Tommy however THE BADMAN is the one whom I cannot control jumping off of my seat for and screaming my lungs out for during each and every single fight that I have seen of his to the extent that I have no voice once the Bloody match has ended. When the Badman enters the ring we are all on the edge of our seats just waiting in anticipation for that mean bone cracking knockout that we all know he produces so brilliantly. Thumbs up all the way to this young guy! Oh and I bet you will be seeing the Badman winning many more titles to come there is no stopping this success hungry fighter!

Potentialy Tommy is the best draw card. But for that to happen I’d say he needs to be more agressive, give the fans more action instead of relying on that long jab. Some of his fights tent to be a bit boring because fighters follow him around the ring too much and he weights too long to get stuck in. Being a draw card means you win and you win in style. Guy who goes hell for leather from the bell and who is still undefeated… Johnny Muller!

  15. January 25, 2010 at 8:15 pm, Simon said:

However in order to become a draw card, you NEED behind the scenes promotion and PR work which Golden Gloves seems to excel at. There are fighters with more impressive records in S.A but they are faily unknown. Especially as a fighter builds his record he needs to be aggressivly promoted. However in the end, a very impressive record will open doors for you in the end. Watch Johnny Muller and Morne Bothma in 2010!

Simon had a very noteworthy comment about Tommy’s style. Since Tommy is a southpaw, and southpaws are counter-punchers, it follows that he’s not your typical marauder who fights going forward (eg: Badman). But he certainly figures among the most exciting, along with Jason, Hekkie (Budler), Flo (Simba) and Grant.
Yes, Johnny Muller is clearly an electrifying fighter, though I personally feel he’s far too wild at present. A great prospect nonetheless

The Badman enjoys fighting but still has the skills of a champion! to be exciting you have to give the people what they want and thats knockouts with great style!!!!! Nobody is sitting by the end of J’s fights its impossible! By far the most exciting boxer in south africa today!!!

And Johnny Sure the rough and brawling fighter dose make all fans scream but let him fight a boxer then it’s. a. another story lets go back to Jason al respect to him great boxer but has he beaten the best. In S.A yet?
Another question didn’t he draw two fights? No-no all respect to him but think of it Tommy has beaten the guy who dropped Kgotso Motau 3 times wait wasn’t he the so called super middleweight devil in S.A last year, you talking about him fighting the dancing game plan my friends South paws are counter boxers when he’s opponent don’t punch he’s patient. Let’s go back to Jared Lovett i watched the fight again Sunday night just remind me the class this young boxer contains.
Every time Jared ran into a left hand then he gave UP running in he was cautious Tommy outclassed him with a jab foot movement and great patience, a boxing expert will tell you that Tommy is the Number one draw card fighter in S.A

And um give Bedeman a chance to beat the best in SA because if you have not noticed he is taking each opponent that comes his way one by one, and who is to say the ones he has beaten already do not qualify as some of the best??? And the ones to come are considered some of the best internationally Jason does not just settle for the best in SA! And i assure you the ones to come will to be taken out one by one, because the BADMAN does not see losing as an option, he would not step foot in the ring if he did!

Just something else to think about, a draw card (what these posts are supposed to be about) is somebody who also pulls a crowd and sells tickets. There are some guys out there who have their fan bases. For example a guy like Ronnie Lategan goesn’t have a good record but he seems to sell tickets. Another example, Stephen Castle will sell more tickets than Flo will for their upcomming fight. It’s a matter of popularity as well. That’s why steve fights so often at Emperors, they want him because he sells.

This response is fantastic. I take my hat off for all our fighters, face it, not everybody has the gut to get into a ring and do what they do. These guys are very committed and most of them does not touch alcoholic beverages or smoke at all. My choice of a draw card and exitement is definately Johnny Muller. Sure he needs some discipline and foot work/balance training but I have seen him in action and he is not scared to get on and do his thing. Watch this young guy.

Karin, both Joey and Ashley are good. Joey even more so than Ashley. In fact I have said before how I rate Joey and his style of boxing. However neither is a real draw card yet. Popularity being the reason, not talent. But you never know what 2010 holds for both guys.
