Biography:
Chris “The Heat” Van Heerden is the IBO and SA welterweight champion and one of the country’s most rugged fighters. A southpaw, he’s nonetheless KO’d 10 opponents in his 19 fights, overwhelming them with his furious workrate and accurant punching. The son of former pro Danie, Van Heerden recently joined the Golden Gloves stable and enjoyed immediate success with a thrilling defeat of highly-touted Bongani Mwelase and more recently Kaizer Mabuza.
